Additional Information
(annual), ($10,000) has been organized annually for the past 20 years. The Florence Gould Foundation and the French-American Foundation present a $10 000 cash award for the best English translation of French in both fiction and non-fiction. The prize-winning translations are selected at the recommendation of a panel of distinguished jurors, who review the finest books published during the previous year. By honoring outstanding translations, the Foundation encourages the greater understanding of French works of substantial merit for the American public and contributes to broadening audiences for French literature in fiction and non-fiction.
